Anthony Garcia (Cedar Rapids, IA) – rated a “4” on a regional handicap system used – completed his undefeated route to the hot seat by topping Craig Hintgen [5] (Dubuque, IA) 4-0 in the A-side semifinals and Nate Mindham [4] (Beloit, WI) 4-1 in the A-side finals.
Filling the 7-8th spots in the final standings, Tracey Christenson [4] (Beloit, WI) was eliminated by Craig Rice [5] (Cedar Rapids, IA) 5-1, while Rich Bideaux [5] ousted Ron Pluym [5] (Dubuque, IA) 5-4. Craig Hintgen and Mason Parks [4] (E. Moline, IL) bit the dust in the next round at the hands of Craig Rice 2-5 and Rich Bideaux 3-5. Bideaux then continued on by stopping Craig Rice at 4th place 5-4 and Nate Mindham at 3rd place 5-3. However, in the tourney finals, Anthony Garcia took advantage of his one-game spot to claim the title over Rich Bideaux in the first set, 4-4!
By virtue of Anthony Garcia being the highest-finishing ACS member in the event, he qualified for a free 9-Ball singles entry into the 2010 ACS Nationals in Las Vegas – courtesy of the ACS.
