U.S. Amateur Championship Entry Deadline Is June 15

The deadline to enter the 2010 U.S. Amateur Championship fast approaching. This prestigious amateur tournament offers both a Men's and Women's Division. The winner of each division will receive paid travel, lodging and entry into a 2011 pro event in addition to a trophy and event jacket.

APA Team Name Contest

The APA is holding a team name contest open until July 5 to teams qualified for the 2010 National Team Championships. To enter, fill out the form on www.poolplayers.com telling the story behind your team name.

Selected entrants will be posted on www.poolplayers.com from July 14 to August 13 for voting. Winners will be named for each National Championship category (8-Ball Open, 8-Ball Ladies, 9-Ball). Winning teams will be photographed at the tournament and will be included in the American Poolplayer® Magazine Fall Edition. Each winning team member will receive a commemorative plaque containing a laminated copy of the magazine article.

NYC Grind's Kiss of Death Web Series Episode 8: "Vegas Bound"

The eighth episode of NYC Grind's 12-week web series "Kiss of Death" is now available. This series, which originally airs weekly on YouTube and Blip.tv (Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. EST), follows the ladies of the team "Kiss of Death" throughout the weeks leading up to the BCAPL National 8-Ball Championships, where they will compete in the Masters Team Division.

In this episode ("Vegas Bound"), the team prepares for the 34th Annual BCAPL 8-Ball Championships, where the girls will compete in individual, doubles and team competitions. Also, sixth team member Alison Fischer gets in some practice at Mickey's Billiards in Wisconsin.
