News from the U.S. Open

The U.S. Open 9-Ball Championships is still going strong at the Chesapeake Convention Center in Chesapeake, VA. Of the 16 women who participated in the event for the first time, 13 have been eliminated.

Eliminations include: Angie Hawkins, Tracy Prescott, Loree Hon Hasson, Jackie Duggan, Borana Andonia, Morgan Steinman, Yomaylin Feliz, Belinda Beardon-Calhoun, Neslihan Gurel, Cheryl Pritchard, Ewa Laurance, Sarah Rousey, Amy Chen, and JoAnn Mason Parker.

Jennifer Barretta, the first woman to win a match in U.S. Open history, will square off against Gerda Hofstatter in order to win the extra $1,000 that event promoter Barry Behrman has promised to the top woman finisher.
